Straining baby - looking for advice

My dd is 5 months and for the past few weeks she has been making this noise that sounds like it comes from the back of her throat . She seems very uncomfortable when it happens and to me it seems like she's doing it all day . She's not constipated.

I was just wondering if anyone was in a similar situation and had found a solution ? Of maybe it's just a phase that will pass ! Any advice would be great !

Oh I meant to say that when she makes this straining noise she sometimes stretches out in discomfort .

If she hasn't got wind then she might just have found a new noise and be practising it. The stretching out may be unrelated, especially as you say she doesn't do it every time - at this age they're starting to work the muscles they will be using to move around and the stretching out can be part of that.

Thanks for your reply. I'm beginning to think it may be wind though as it was waking her up last night, poor wee thing . Babies need to learn to speak much earlier so they can tell us these things !
