We are 40+ mummies sharing all the highs and lows of our autumn crocus babies. Also sharing tips and information (most crying is tiredness!) and jokes. Please join us!

None are so old as those who have outlived enthusiasm
You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely
It's sad to grow old, but nice to ripen.

PS pud just read your post re your dad and giving him a reason to keep going as it were. My mum is the same. My dad died 10 years ago, and my mum only said this weekend that me having the kids has given her a reason to keep going. She spoils them rotten, but loves doing so and it's lovely,to see them interacting with her.

Knicky I meant "prat" to be a little lighthearted; I really don't want to offend so very sorry if it was a misjudged word.

Report
knickyknocks · 08/10/2013 21:01

Oh crikey no! Prat is positively mild in comparison to what I've called him of late! So sorry that baby s hasn't improved. Poor little man (but still incredibly scrummy despite the germs)

I should add that one of the main reasons I feel much more positive this evening is because of our wonderful scarecrow. She's as fabulous in RL as she is on here Smile

Go BG go BG (is there a pompom emoticon?) hope it lasts and you and DH get good sleep tonight Goat

Enjoy your meet up tomorrow everyone who can make it Envy

BabyPud has been back to fusspot evening behaviour tonight, so I'm not sure what tonight will herald... Each time I think I've got to the bottom of it, something changes. I should just accept that is how it'll be for the next 15 years shouldn't I ?!

Evening ladies,
Thanks for your kind words, I know the weight will go faster if i put more effort inand scarecrow as usual your right, rosebuds needs come first and i do eat a lot of good stuff. Dh has no problem with it at all (Arab men like there wives to be big!) I have never let him forget the time i flew back after a winter in uk and his opening line was 'wow I've got twice the wife i used to have! !!!'

Pudding , not long till your trip now. I keep meaning to say ( please egnore if you know) its good if baby pud feeds during take off and landing as the suckling clears there ears. I'm sure the other ladies have some great holiday survival tips too.

Eagle , I'd love to hear what you have planned for the naming ceremony . It's such a beautiful thing to do. Dh's are soooo annoying when they just won't get excited.
Hope that extra sprinkle of sleeping dust helps bg (and all the other babies) sleep peacefully tonight. Rosebud is doing her growing following her feeding frenzy and has slept all day and is sleeping soundly next to me. Love her. ... she did manage to squeeze out her first proper tear today in her car chair paddy. :( it's jab day tomorrow so I'm sure she'll get some more practice.
Kk glad you're feeling a bit better the scarecrow works her magic again. :)
Scarecrow hope ds is better tomorrow. He does sound adorable. Xx

Bbd how are the party plans going? What are you getting him for his birthday? Your new regime sounds very fair and structured beautifully to a 5year old. It's so important that they start to learn about consequences at that age.

Oh god sorry another from me. Baby KK is swiftly becoming as crap a sleeper as his sister was. For the past 3 nights he's woken at 11, 3, 4 and 5, crying each time. Rocking helps to get him back to sleep. This morning was a true low. Have been up since 3.55 trying to get him back to sleep. He had had a poo, so after the nappy change and 45 minutes of rocking, I've given up. We're downstairs and I'm on my second strong coffee. I'm exhausted and feeling angry with him for not sleeping.

Not sure what to do about naps now, go with the flow or make him wait (with the thinking early nap = early wake up) need matchstick for eyes and coffee on a drip.....Sad

KK I feel your pain! BabyPud woke up at 4:10. I just got her back down after 3 feeds, 1 puke, 2 wet nappies and histrionics every time I dared put her in her crib despite her being fast asleep 3 milliseconds earlier Sad I hope she stays asleep this time but in not hopeful. Hope you get some rest today

Oh cries knicky and pud wishing you strength!

Re scarecrow I regret not putting in the opening post that 'most crying is tiredness' is her tip! It's one I think to myself regularly. its an uber-tip. Also the one about giving positive suggestions rather than 'nos'. ThanksGrin Scare

Morning all - just awake and feeding DD now, although I suspect she was awake in the night and I just slept through it - oops. She keeps clawing and squeezing my chest and I said to her 'don't do that - it hurts!' She raised her head, looked directly at me and said 'yes' then carried on feeding Confused

Can't type much as on phone but hope meet- up goes well today - wish I was there! Also yes to local meet!

scarecrow poor you re sore throat - vile isn't it. Diclofenac is safe to take when BF if pain is too much, altho I prefer the ice cream option Smile

rosie hang on in there re weight and body changes etc. I finally reached my pre-preg weight this week, altho body rather different now! Boobs bigger, limbs stronger and tummy a disaster area but can live with it. Strangely I have muscular definition from doing the shred - (fl)abs would be a good description - but hope this will improve over time. Now to get rid of the next 10kg as was overweight before having DD...

He fell asleep again at 5.40 and I did too, he's still asleep now at 7.20, and I've only just woken up because of DD. Think that an extra hour in bed has bought me my sanity Smile.

pud huge hugs and sympathy. God it's hard going isn't it?

GoatBongoAnonymous · 09/10/2013 07:40

Oh Knicky I sympathise! I hope baby kk starts sleeping better soon. I do remember that this was BG's pattern for a while but he did grow out of it until the last bloody stretch we've had Maybe a growth spurt? How old is baby kk?

And in Goat household news, whatever spell you lot put on BG worked! First wake up at 3 then (alas!) up for the day at 4 but what a difference! So we are set for meeting today, hooray!

Morning ladies.
Hope there is lots of sleeping baby story's stories today. :)
Eagle :( I've been thinking about how to deal with un except able boob behaviour lately and was going to ask , looking forward to learning from the great advice you'll get :)

Scarecrow ice cream is a universal medicine and therefor has no calories when taken for physical or
mental health purposes. Enjoy with guilt :)

Pudding, rosebud was like that 2weeks ago. . It will pass, for me week 12 was the toughest so far sleep deprivation really kicked in. You've both had a busy we too. Can you give yourself a feet up day? ?

Well 2 separate family time bombs went off last night, don't want to say to much on here but the repercussions of both have far reaching effects and a lot of little lives have been rocked. life can be very unfair sometimes :(
