How to get a 2 year old to bed at 7pm?

For the last fortnight my 2 year old has point blank refused to stay in bed in the evening. She went on a holiday a couple of weeks ago for 5 days and I think this is what has caused the change. She will not stay in bed, screams and shouts, and can open the bedroom door and escape. She has been going down on average around 9pm most nights. She does'nt nap during the day so she should be tired.

I have tried lying next to her in her bedroom, but it just doesnt work. It is driving me nuts. I really want her to go down at 7pm like she did before her holiday.

Any advice/tips?

We used to put a stair gate on our DS's bedroom door Grin awaits flaming.

In my experience bedtime gets easier when the clocks go back

What time does she wake up?
Start bath & milk and story at 6.30pm

I wouldn't stress too much though

Stair gate across the door and leave her to it.

She wakes up about 7am. We do the same bedtime routine of bath, milk story etc starting from about 6pm. This situation is not helped by the fact that I have a stinking cold - my second in about a month! I am so tired myself I don't have the energy for this.
