White noise query...

We’ve been using white noise on the iPod for dd’s overnight sleep. The iPod has died and I don’t really want to fork out for another as we only use it for white noise. I’m nervous about forking out for a second hand one (and I think only more expensive models can be used on our dock). We used to use the iPad but I need the iPad when dd has gone to bed.

Has anyone used one of the white noise machines that seem to be advertised online? Not sure if they’re loud enough/make the right sort of noise...
Any tips for what others use (that’s cheap!) much appreciated.

What about a CD?

I used this for both my DC and I can't recommend it enough.

Try turning the washing machine or tumbler dryer on instead.

Lexies - We did try that CD when dd was younger and she didnt seem to like it. The only thing that works is static noise. Still would be much cheaper to get a portable CD player and am sure we could find a CD that worked.

Nevercan: we put the noise on in her room overnight (no washing machine in there :)

We had the exact same problem!!!

We bought the Marpac Dohms sound conditioner, 2nd hand on eBay for £25. It is amazing - great pure white noise, that you can adjust to your preference.
