16mo DS has gone to creche 3 times whilst I have a swim. The creche is in the leisure centre and has lots of toys and books and they give a snack. The first week I took him he went off on his own to play with toys as soon as we walked in and he seemed to really enjoy it. He was laughing when I collected him just over an hour later. The second week he went in fine but the staff he had a few tears which quickly resolved when they showed him another toy. That day he came swimming with me afterwards. This week however he screamed as soon as we entered the door and clung to me like never before. He got really upset. I stayed for a bit to settle him but I thought it was just making him worse so I left and the staff tried to calm him down. They said they tried everything and although he would settle he immediately got upset again. After only 10 minutes they had to come and get me. I took him into the pool and he had a great time. Nothing appeared wrong with him although he has been temperamental with teething. I work 2 days per week and he is looked after by his GPs or his Dad so he doesn't go to nursery.
