Potties for boys?

DS is nearly 2 and we're seeing a bit of an interest in sitting on the potty etc. However the potties we have (that we used for DD) seem totally wrong in their shape and size.

If he were to wee on it we would end up with it all over the floor as the front isn't very high. It also doesn't seem big enough for his ample bottom!

Can anyone recommend a particular potty / potty shape for boys. Or would we better off using a toilet seat?

Didn't realise it would be so different to potty training a girl!

You'll have the same if not worse issue with a toilet seat.
I've always got by with standard potties(the latest was less than a quid at Tesco).Turn the high bit to the front and teach them to always point willy down.
I am still saying this to the 12 and 6 year olds too.

all potties were wrong shape for my ds, his bum was so sore after sitting on them.....so i bought him the TOMY ROYAL THRONE, its a seat potty so doesnt hurt their little bums...and its got a wee guard for those little high aimers

I used a Baby bjorn high backed potty for ds3 who is just trained (3 weeks ago). It is very comfy for him and has a removeable inner bowl for easy cleaning. Not the cheapest but it worked for me.
Actually ds3 prefers the loo now so it's almost redundant !

I'm crap at links but there are some on ebay just now: search under Babybjorn potty chair.

We were warned htat with potties (and toilet seats) with high enough fronts to prevent over-spray there was quite a risk of a clumsy dismount causing the boy pain, so didn't bother withthem. Just got a fairly simple potty (from JL, IIRC) and taught ds to use his finger to point his penis down when on the loo or potty.
