GPS Trackers for Children - are they any good?

Has anyone had any experience with kids gps trackers? I'm considering using one on my 6 year old son as he's always running off, he never gets too far away from me but I worry that one day he might and it fills me with terror.

Don't have first hand experience, however I have come across this new product coming out this month, trax4you.com.
I have also saw at the Loca8tor one, but you need to buy credit for it to work.
The Trax4you one looks the best at the moment, and not too pricey.
Think I will be getting one for the each of my family when we go skiing in Feb.
