It's the freaking mess, the tidal wave of plastic crap, the Daily Mail-esque rage when some bureaucrat says your kid can't go to a decent school, the old friends who have stinky, nitty kids that you can hardly bare to see anymore.... Probably best that people just stick to sleep deprivation & the cost.

What are you glad no one told you?

That sometimes when your dc is having a major hissy fit you will have to restrain yourself from laughing because they look sooooo funny.
That you will miss them like crazy when you have the chance to get away from them.
That everyone brings there kids up differently but most of us get it right in our own way.

The worry, the washing, the worms!

That some days you will be on your knees at the end of the day

That some days you will sob like you've never sobbed before

That you will age rapidly (but that you won't care about your looks as much)

That you will go years without a broken night's sleep (yet still cope)

That you will be physically and mentally exhausted (but stronger than you've ever been before)

That you will crave freedom like you've never have before( yet you won't bloody want to leave them )

That if you breastfeed you could be doing it till they leave home

That the things that are really cute in small doses can be incredibly wearing in large ones.

I used to think DNiece's imaginative play was as cute as anything and was looking forward to DD doing the same. After two hours of playing vets over and over and over again it palls somewhat.. "yes, it's my cat, doctor, he has a bit of a cough.." "No! You're not supposed to SAY that, you're SUPPOSED to say the cat has hurt his leg!"
