Nappy removing problem

Ilovemyself · 15/09/2013 11:09

Our 19mo son has started removing his nightclothes AND nappy during the night as well as during his afternoon nap.

Not sure why although I have an idea he may do it if it is soiled. We make sure it is clean just before he goes to bed.

Any ideas on what we can do? Thankfully it is normally only a wet cot but the occasional poo filled
One is not pleasant.

We have put DTs back in vest and back to front babygros - they were in pj's in the summer with no vests and the fun started!

Thanks. We have tried those ideas and he just pulls them over his shoulders - if they are too tight to do that he pulls until the poppers pop or the zip opens. ??

His sister looks like she was copying this morning. She had taken all but her nappy off. Lets hope she isn't going to follow suit.

I have heard that putting on the nappy/clothes backwards can be effective - you can buy specialist bed clothes that fasten at the back but as this is just a phase probably not worth it.

What about a nappy wrap with poppers? Theyre used for cloth nappies, but are a good cover to stop them taking nappies off

duct tape

Do you have him in your room/a monitor? I wouldn't want to sleep in a dirty nappy either... that way you could do a change as required?

My DS was taking his nappy off during the day until I started putting the nappy on backwards. Didn't manage to figure that out thankfully! The next thing I was going to try was duct tape over the top of the regular tabs you use to do the nappy up.

We used silver gaffer tape and wound it round twice.

Pull ups instead of nappies?
