DS is 9 months. I have to stay overnight in London on some exam training for two nights and he will be looked after by DH in the evenings and my parents (who often look after him) in the day.

I have to leave this evening at some time (not fixed). Is it best to let DS see me leave, or wait until he's asleep then go?

My instincts tell me it's best to let him see me go rather than sneak off, but what do you all think is best?

Should have said am also still breastfeeding but only twice a day - morning and evenings.

He drinks water fine from a cup and I have organised some EBM for him to have in the cup instead while I'm away, but this is obviously different from normal.

Bet I'm doing all this fretting and he won't even notice I'm gone!!

I think its best to let him see you leave - he might get a bit upset, but better him upset and knowing where mummy has gone, than just suddenly wanting you and you not being there.
