Where you can buy wipes that have suncream on them?

Does anyone know the ones I mean. I think pampers did them, like regular baby wipes but 'infused' with suncream so could just smear over wriggling child! I want some for our holiday but I can't find them anywhere! Cheers.

Don't Boots stock them, or mothercare?

maddiebean · 21/06/2006 20:49

I went to bluewater this week and tried boots, superdrug, John Lewis' baby dept. and mothercare! No luck. I'm wondering if they don't sell them anymore?

They are still about, they are called 'sunnies' by pampers, most chemists should stock them.

I had ones from Avon a couple of years ago, I think SF30. They were alright but Avon also do a childrens spray that goes on purple so you see which bits you missed! My mum has an Avon book now and again so buys me supplies for summer.

mabel1973 · 21/06/2006 22:14

my friend had some in her bag the other week which we used - they were pampers ones.
She did say she'd had them in the changing bag all winter though...

ambercat · 21/06/2006 22:16

I tried to get them last summer with no luck anywhere, thought they'd stopped making them.

fransmom · 21/06/2006 22:38

u could get them last summer from mothercare, they're called sunnies. i think they should still sell them

JanH · 21/06/2006 22:40

I have some Ambre Solaire ones I got from Asda, but it was at least 2 years ago (they probably won't work any more)

JanH · 21/06/2006 22:43

Some online here . Bit dear though.

I'll see if I can find any others.

Helpful hint:

"I sometimes cover baby wipes in sunscreen and carry them around with me, easy to give kids a wipe over with them wherever you are, they also take them to school in a little sandwich bag to keep them moist."

maddiebean · 21/06/2006 23:11

Good grief those are expensive! Because I'm sad like this I've e-mailed pampers to check if you can still get sunnies where I live or in fact anywhere!

ps I need to go to sleep but dd is in my bed with high temp....argh! Calpol to the rescue...

Just to let you know. Pampers got back to me today to say they no longer make sunnies for 'marketing reasons' eh?!

"Marketing reasons" - eh? indeed. (= not enough sales I'm guessing.)

Could you do the sunscreened-babywipes-in-plastic-bag then, mb? If you got some out of the packet, let them dry out and then squirted suncream on and squidged, that would work?

tassis · 22/06/2006 19:25

that's a shame. last summer we used them all the time on holiday for ds' face. used spray on stuff for legs, arms etc, but a quick once over for face and neck was great.

southeastastra · 22/06/2006 19:27

years ago i worked in an ad agency and during one brainstorm meeting i came up with the idea of putting sunscreen on wipes (it was MY idea lol). someone did say at that meeting that there were reasons why it couldn't be done but they did and i got no blinkin royalities!

channelislandmum · 22/06/2006 20:31

Yes they are called Sunnies - and yes by Pampers.
lloyds chemist in Jersey have loads. think better stock up if its true they are bing discontinued! Boots and Mothercare definitely dont have any! I carry them around in my bag - never know when the weather will change here.I also use them for myself - being a fair skinned Jock!
Also good are Dermalogica sun wipes - they are expensive, but they wont irritate childrens delicate skin. We order them on-line from some place courtyard spa or something.
