startrite size 35 G - what is 'real' shoe sizes?

Bought son's school shoes today, 35 G start rite ones. I didn't really pay attention when the lady said what shoes size he was - not sure if she said 2 or 2.5. I want to order him a pair of boots, and not sure what size to go for.... how do startrite sizes translate into all other shoe sizes? Anyone know what 35 G is equivalent to?

I think it's a size 2.5

thanks... I really wish I'd paid attention in the shop! If I go with 2.5 as opposed to 2 then at least he can grow into them if they are a little bit big?
