My dd has many games, 'babies', activity sets etc & her birthday (not to mention Christmas) is/are coming up. I have spoken to her about how much she has (she doesn't seem to outgrow toys anymore so just gets more but not getting rid of anything) & about the idea of family putting together money to get her one big present. She thinks this is a great idea but now I need to think of what this big present could be. Thinking of an iPad mini as she uses them at school, but don't know if she is too young & I have been trying to keep her from being glued to the family laptop as I don't think it's good for her. (I am aware that anyone on the breadline might be spitting feathers at me writing this. DH & I worked every hour possible & saved every penny in order that we could afford to bring a child into this world & waited until quite late before starting our family in order that we could give her (& us) the financial security we didn't have as children. Sorry that I feel the need to say that.) She does understand the value of money, as if she wants something during the year she has to sell something in order to raise money towards the new thing so she understands how this would work. Any ideas please?
