My DD is 3mths and the other day quite by accident she 'watched' Balamory and she smiled when it was on, now i don't know if it was Balamory she liked or if she was just having a smile.
But it got me thinking. When did your baby start to get more interested in TV?
Evie likes MTV when she is closer to the TV but i think thats because it is loud/bright.

So yeah, when did they like TV and what TV did they like?

4 months
teletubbies
thank the lord! it means I can go and get breakfast, dressed, make phonecall while he sits in chair with something to chew for the whole 25 minutes

6 months, and Granny treated him to some Cbeebies. He loved one of those bright, noisy ones - Fimbles? He saw some other stuff and just looked away uninterested, so I reckon it was Balamory.

He's a year old now, and laughs at Disney cartoons when they fall over or crash into one another. He's always sat on our knee at home but we went to a friend who had the TV on in the background. He went and stood right up to it, with his whole body and face touching it. I think it was the novelty and the fact it was a trul massive telly.

I'd say about 4 months here too. I got her some Baby Einstein DVDs and she loves them although I think they are lame. She now likes CBeebies, Teletubbies and Fimbles or whatever. I don't feel guilty about it as I couldn't manage with getting my ASD son ready for school if I couldn't keep her occupied this way. I don't automatically shove her in front of it but its very useful. I happen to like kids' TV myself and have always loved cartoons. 20 years ago I used to leave work early (flexitime) to go home to watch Grange Hill

About 4 months here, dd like Fashion TV and usually sits with DH and watches it. He turned it to the cartoon channel, dd turned away. She is a big fan of Superbikes, just like her daddy and grandpa.

Does anybody's kid like the Coca Cola commercial with the girl singing......I WISH I COULD.....and gives out bottles from her bag?

DD will immediately turn to the telly when she hears it, watch and smile. A sweet sight. Bless.

MTV is popular here too... and Kerrang... anything loud and heavy metal... and cricket! yes cricket... dh delighted...dd is 4 months but generally will only be amused by telly for 10 mins or so although i havnt tried kids telly. Whats baby einstein videos like...whats on them?

Another vote for Fimbles, Tweenies, Playhouse Disney etc. and to DH's surprise, criket, rugby and the all important footie. Plus DS turns to watch the intro music on BBC Breakfast, the duh duh duh that happens between local and regional news - maybe it's a womb thing but he just whips round his head whenever that's on!

Sorry, forgot to say that the interest started from around 4 months, but would only hold his attention for 5mins or so and is gradually building up (not that I'm encouraging it or anything! ) Now 7.5 months.
