Did you get the booklet from the hv with all the activities you can do to encouraging their physical development? That should pass some time. Are you worried bout something in particular? If you feel your baby is bored, why not try going to a play group, dd used to like looking at things and being out at this age. Do you have a jumperoo or stand on the floor toy? Radio/music? Dd loved to dance with me!

Swimming? It's a bit of a faff going on your own with a LO, but lots of babies seem to like it, plus it makes them really hungry and they always nap well afterwards in my experience!

Milestones aren't a race. if you do activities it should be because you and she enjoy it , like music groups, babygym , swimming etc and development is a side benefit.

I don't really think about milestones as such but did the following with my 8 month old:

  • Baby Sensory
  • Soft play centre
  • Swimming
  • Books / Library
  • Singing / Dancing
  • Stacking cups / Building blocks / Balls
  • Park (swings, slide)
  • Lots of opportunity to spend time with other people (friends / family)
  • Eating out
