My DS wasprescribed Infant Gaviscon yesterday reflux. it seems to be helping I think but I don't think he's finished a bottle since!

We have been offering 5oz for a week now and he doesn't always finish his bottle but usually his daytime bottles are drained. The most he managed since yesterday 4oz.

Anyone else experienced this? I don't feel concerned, but should I be?

Gaviscon helps the reflux by thickening when it gets into the stomach. Possibly, it is making your DS feel fuller sooner.
Was the reflux causing vomiting? Perhaps taking 5ozs but vomiting, equals 4ozs with no vomits?

Ah that's a good point..yes, he was bringing it back up. That would make sense!

Hi have you used a faster flow teat because my.lo has a thickener for reflux and we had to start using size 3 teats when he was 8 weeks old because it was too thick for him to get out sorry if you are doing this already but because you hadn't mentioned in your post i thought it might be worth a mention hth

The other possibility is that if your LO hasn't got indesgestion, then they won't need to constantly drink to cool the burn in the tummy, therefore only taking what they actually want from the bottle, rather than over feeding to settle the tum
