Clingy and tantrumming? FFS.

DD is driving me round the fucking bend.

She's always been clingy, but the last two months she's become unbearable. SHe's now 21 months and I can't do anything without her standing with her arms out, wanting to be held and cuddled. Even if I just walk into another room, or try and wash up, she's there; demanding.

Poor ds is quite used to not being able to share me, as she's very possessive. Mind you, if it's him she wants, she can be possessive over him too.

Bizarrely, she will trot off happily in nursery and can be a bolter outside.

Added to this, she's averaging about one tantrum an hour and I am beginning to lose the plot.

Not sure if I'm after advice or just a whinge, to be honest, but I really don't remember it being this hard with DS (and I was heavily pregnant at this stage with him!).

Sorry no advice, but just wanted to say my DS who is also nearly 21 months is exactly like this and it has got worse over the last couple of months, and it's made worse by hunger/tiredness/illness/teething - circumstances which we are usually in one or more of at any one time. He also happily attends nursery and is fine when I'm not around, but if he knows I am in the house/vicinity he only wants "cuddle mummy". My poor 4yr DD doesn't get a look in and if I dare show her any affection in front of him (which clearly I do) he flips out and starts trying to push her away from me and shouts "mine, mine"! Very wearing and frustrating, but I am holding on to the hope that it is just a phase, separation anxiety maybe, and gritting my teeth to get though it.

So you have my sympathy. I also don't think I had this stage with my first, but then generally my son has been harder work in all areas compared to her. Sigh ( mentally pictures soothing glass of vino for later tonight )

Good luck x
