Hi all,

Just wondering when your lo started crawling and walking ? DS is 10.5 mo and doesn't crawl. He does get around the whole place by sliding on his tummy (as great speeds).... He even attempts to stand, but no success yet...

Should I be worried ? Or is he going to be one of those kids who skip crawling and just start walking...

Thanks :)

Can't remember about commando crawling, but only did proper crawling a few days after her 1st birthday, and only walked at 20 months (referred to physio by HV when not walking at 18 month check, but took first steps the day before her appointment!! Physio said she is a bit hypermobile). Walks / runs etc fine (if less physically active / coordinated than most of her peers) now (3 1/2). I certainly think it is early to worry for you op.

Crawling at 10 months, and just started walking at nearly 17 months. He has been talking for a while and is learning words rapidly. His fine motor skills are also very good. I think babies usually focus on developing one area at a time so they can be "behind" in one, "ahead" in something else and perfectly average in others.

Ds's cousin didn't walk till 18 months and he is now 7 and you would never know he was "late".

DS crawled at 11 months, walked at about 13 months
