My daughter is 11 months old and in the morning she will have 7oz formula and porridge with added fruit either berries or banana. However i feel like this is not enough for her and was wondering what other mummies give their babies for a fullfiling breakfast?

My 12 mth old ds has a bf, then a bowl of shreddies. If he still seems hunger he has some fruit or a bit of toasted fruit bread and butter.

My nearly 10mo has 8oz formula first thing then has breakfast an hour later which is either baby porridge with pureed fruit - strawberries, mango, peach, or apple and cinnamon - or mashed banana, or else she has weetabix mashed with some banana or pureed strawberries. The other fruits don't mix well with weetabix. She loves toast too but I tend to not bother with that at breakfast as she has toast or sandwiches usually with her lunch.

Dd, nearly 11 months, has porridge or weetabix (1 biscuit) made with formula and then 2-3oz formula to drink, or she has weetos or nesquick or shreddies... any cereal really.
If she seems hungry after her morning nap, or if she's at nursery, she has a second breakfast at around 9.30 a.m. which then sees her through to lunch.

Ps other ideas - scrambled egg (if you can be bothered making it in the morning! We often have it for lunch at weekends) or french toast

We have fruit, yoghurt and toast ( smooth peanut butter, lemon curd but usually cream cheese)

And a glass of fruit juice (mixed with water) I used to mix it with hot water in the winter

I can't deal with porridge (its gross) and I promised myself (ten years before she existed) that she wasn't getting weetabix til she was toilet trained.

If you feel it isnt filing enough then put her milk in a cup (she will take less) and give more solids. Toast, cereal, yoghurt anything really.

Why do you think its not enough bigsmiles? Once she is one the recommendation is to ditch the formula altogether and to give 300ml/10floz/half a pint of full fat cows milk per day. Is she close to one now?

mummysbigsmiles · 16/08/2013 21:07

@jiltedjohnsjulie yeah she is coming up for 11 months on the 23rd of this month. I suppose its just worry that she is eating enough thats why i was just a little curious that everyone else was feeding their kids the same amount roughly as i was for her :)
