Gift ideas for one year old DS

My DS will be turning 1 in a few weeks time.

Already family and friends have started asking what they can get him for his birthday?!

To be honest I haven't even thought that far ahead and don't have much of an idea what he might want / need (he is our first!).

So any suggestions welcome please!

Oh and his main current toys include a ball pit, push a long vtech walker, stacking cups, and building blocks.
He loves balls, wheels and books! Smile

Tomy aquadoodle mats are really good my 18 month old loves hers might put it away for a few months before he is interested tho. Also mega bloks and maybe a ride on toy?

Mine turns one tomorrow. Presents from family include a duplo farm, a slide, a truck, a book and some clothes. We are taking him to the aquarium. He has no idea what's going on but loves the slide!

Tomy hide and squeek eggs

megablocks or Duplo
Oh, and cars!

Also just remembered we got a gift from grandparents of a yearly pass for our local zoo that was brilliant.

DD loves this bath toy, and also got a push along bike/trike thingy as her big present from the grandparents.

They change a LOT between 1-2 so toys they can grow into are great. She now at 18m loves books, toy cars and bags. The Scuttlebugs seems great as well. But a pass to a local zoo or farm would be a fantastic present.

Also money for a savings account. Or practical gifts like nice melamine crockery/ cutlery. Emma bridgewater does a lovely set with tractors etc painted on. Second ride on toy, DS (3) still loves his even though he is too old for it! He got a colourful wooden one.

We are looking at the vtech toot toot drivers range for DS. His dad and I will probably buy him a big set, then friends and family can get some of the smaller add-ons, like extra cars.

Little tykes plastic rocking horse
Tea set
Baby doll and buggy
Megablocks
Happyland stuff (the dinosaur is.my.favourite!).

All of the above are well loved by the one year old in our house.

Bubble machine and loads of bubble mixture

This trike was my sons favourite 1st bday gift and also the longest lasting. He still rides it now at 3.4! All the pintoy stuff is lovely.

Otherwise just go with practical stuff like clothes, plates/bowls etc. He's only going to appreciate the boxes anyway!!

Thank you for your responses, some great suggestions on here!

And you're probably right HP, the boxes and wrapping will be the biggest hits no doubt!! Smile
