Toddler (21 months) misses nursery friends when she's not there

We can only afford for our almost 2 year old to go to nursery 3 mornings a week while I'm on ma leave again. She has made really good friends and talks about them often.

Today she asked to go to nursery to see them but its not one of her nursery days. She got really upset and talks about them non stop.

Any advice on how to handle this? I feel like I'm depriving her but we just can't afford more than that.

She is only little ! She is not the one that knows what is best or her - at her age she get lots I benefits from quiet time with mummy .. She might not be wise enough to know that though !

I'm sure she would miss you sometimes at nursery too

Why don't you invite them round to play at the weekends?

Arrange a couple playdates outside nursery? Lots of the kids will be part time.
But I suspect you may be about to start the years of child wanting to go to nursery on home days, and refusing to leave nursery in the evening - while also refusing to leave the house when it's time to go to nursery...

If you don't get to meet the other parents at pick up time or whatever, you can pass a note to the staff to put in a child's bag with your name & number asking if they want to arrange a play date.
