King prawns - 21 month old - just checking

Am pretty sure it's okay, but just to double check its okay for my 21 month old to eat king prawns? I just made her a king prawn, pea and tomato, whole meal pasta.

She's chomping away at it and eaten almost a whole pack of king prawns, she has this at be once a month. The prawns were pre cooked and then I heated in the sauce.

It's okay for toddlers to eat shellfish isn't it?

Yep it's fine. Sounds yummy!

Shellfish is fine, though too much wholemeal stuff isn't a good idea.

Thank you. Really maja00? I ad no idea, why? I only ever use wolemeal pasta or bread, is that wrong? What should I use instead?

I wouldn't eat 21 month old king prawns, no. Grin

Small children struggle to digest wholemeal iirc, and it can interfere with them absorbing other things. From the Food Standards Agency:

But if you tend to eat high fibre foods, remember that young children's stomachs can't cope with foods such as wholemeal pasta and brown rice. Also, too much fibre can sometimes reduce the amount of minerals they can absorb, such as calcium and iron.

Haha bless you... Obviously the toddler is 21 months old. The prawns are older.
