2yo dd screaming in public shop

My 2yo dd starting screaming in shop because I said she wasn't aloud a new toy so she starting kicking and screaming really loud and practically the whole shop was staring at us I can't take a buggy because i have an 8 week old baby and can't push another buggy I tried giving her crisp's and everything but nothing worked it took half and hour to get her to stop screaming

Yes, total sympathy, its so hard when you have a little one and are probably sleep deprived.

If mine tantrum and demand like this I just walk off. Its highly unlikely that anyone is going to run off with a screaming child and they usually stop crying when they can't see you and come running. Then a quiet talk about how screaming doesn't get them what they want is usually in order. Sounds harsh but I've only had to do it once with each DC, they got the message straight away.

The people who were staring were most likely thanking their lucky stars that it wasn't them having to deal with it. So don't worry about that.

Don't worry no one will have judged. It's awful while it's happening though.

I got a second hand double buggy for more or less exactly this reason - I could stick DD1 in it and LEAVE.

It gets easier.

Agree its normal for people to look at a screaming child but they are unlikely to have judged and even if they had, how would you know unless you an read minds of course...Grin
