I never bothered with swim nappies - couldn't see the point. Blush
I figured a tiny bit if baby wee wouldn't hurt anyone, and that a costume would catch anything bigger long enough for me to whip DD out of the pool.

what if it was a runny poo and escaped? We have had bad experiences on holiday where pools have had to be shut for hours because people couldnt be bothered to put a swim nappy on their babies/non-potty trained children (mini rant there).

I got reusables from Mothercare or you can get swimming costumes with integrated swimming nappies from various places. You can also get disposable swim nappies from the supermarket.

He's not quite 7 months and his poo not always solid Blush. Plus my swimming pool insists.

Never had a runny poo problem, thank goodness. You'd know if that was likely to happen though, and I wouldn't take DD in the pool. She also used to screw her face up in concentration and go red when she was about ti poo, so I'd have plenty of warning.
I don't see how the swim nappy stops the wee getting into the water anyway. It would have to be incredibly right fitting to the point of cutting off circulation to not allow water in, and if water can get in, wee can get out.

I've seen the disposables but figured, as I go a lot the TB would see us through for much longer and only have to buy it once (wont bother with trunks)

We have the new TB swim nappy, it fits well, we have never had poo escape solid or not. Washed well, dries quickly.

the swim nappy is not to keep pee in but to keep poo in, it doesnt matter if pee escapes.

ilovepowerhoop · 06/08/2013 19:26

p.s. haven't tried the tots bots one
