So anxious about NB I can't enjoy him

My DS2 is 8 days old and I find that I'm so anxious about his sleeping, eating patterns and my ability to cope with two children (DD2.6 years) that I can't enjoy him.

Does anyone else feel this way? Will it pass? How can I help myself and my family through this period?

Nights fill me with terror. Things got so bad with my DD

You could have PND / anxiety but its still early days and your hormones are still all over the place. How long did it go on for with your DD? Did you speak with your GP or get any help? How much support do you have around you?

Getting to grips with looking after a 2 year old and a newborn is extremely hard and it will probably take you weeks to feel like you are on top of things. Do you think you could be expecting too much too soon?

CBell speak to your MW about how you are feeling. It could just be the massive shift in your hormones or it could be an indication that you may need more support.

Good advice already from Song.
