Me when camping. Stinking campsite.

Nomnew · 05/08/2013 21:43

I've used my child's potty (rather childish to see if I could fit on it/fill it).

I'm not sure what a potette is though.

FriskyHenderson · 05/08/2013 21:49

I haven't.

have used a nappy in a ELC suntent on a beach though

ThreeBeeOneGee · 05/08/2013 21:52

I have no idea what a potette is, but even though my youngest two are now nine, we have kept the posh potty (made by tuff'n'tumble) as it is so useful for car sickness & midnight wees when the campsite toilets are just too far from the tent.

LynetteScavo · 05/08/2013 21:57

I love these threads, because it reminds me what a massive bladder I have.

The one an only time I used a potty I filled it to the brim. How about you, Nomnew

Never used a potette. - foldable potty consisting partly of a nappy sack and sanitary towel.

NobodyPutsTomArcherInTheCorner · 05/08/2013 22:06

I did when camping and desperate once. They're def not made for adult quantitesBlush but it was either than or baked bean tin. Blimey what a life of unparalleled luxury I've led.

Nomnew · 06/08/2013 22:06

LynetteScavo I always imagined it would flood under the onslaught of an adult's wee but sadly not in my case. Next time I'll wait until I'm really bursting.

When I was a child I peed in a bottle to see how much came out- I guess the curiosity has never left me!

Mummyoftheyear · 07/08/2013 06:52

Oh phew! Not sure which has been more of a relief... knowing that I'm not the only (once but def. would repeat if nec.) potette user OR doing the wee in the first place! Was either potette or bust at the time.

As for quantities (gross alert): I filled the bag. Could barely tie it. And I use compost bags as cheaper and don't leak. My husband, strangely, didn't want to look at it as I brandished it before him in shock (mega amount of wee) and amazement/ pride. Bit like my reaction to having seen my placenta fill the bowl - horror and amazement.
Please excuse disgusting-ness. Don't know what's come over me. Will pull self together.

No but did a wee into a nappy camping once well had to use two as it became clear halfway through that one wasn't going to hold it

Tailtwister · 07/08/2013 09:57

Me too! I used it when we were camping at a festival. DH was off listening to bands and I didn't want to leave the DC sleeping alone in the the tent. It was tricky transporting a bag full of pee to the toilets in the morning though. Don't think they are meant to take adult volume!

Mummyoftheyear · 07/08/2013 20:08

They do the job in an emergency though, don't they! Used it only once... but I'd do it again if push cane to shove.
