Hello all has anyone any advice on how to deal with dealth with my 2.6 little girl. Shes very switched on and knows about all conversations that take place in the house and your moods. Went upstairs and came back down with a blanket today because she said I looked tired and I was (8mth old teething terrible night!) When she thinks I look sad (which I'm clearly not hiding well enough) she puts her arm round me and says "its OK nanny will come back soon." My dad was given 9mths -1yr in January this year and my little girl talks about him all the time. We live in Germany he's in Uk and at first I thought I wont mention it and maybe she'll just not bother (that was in January)but as the months pass she clearly adhores him and gets photos out and talks about visiting him. What will I do when the time comes!!!

The Times today had an interesting article on grief in under 5s. It was mainly thinking about children who lose a parent but I'm sure much of it could be applied to grandparents as well. Not sure if the article is online but could try searching for it at www.timesonline.co.uk. Hope this helps.
