Hia, my just over 6mo has taken to arching his back when lying down playing which really puts his neck in a strange position...am worried he will do himself some damage? Does/has anyone else's lo done this?

Yes. Mine arches her back whilst in her carrier, whilst on the changing mat and when I'm lowering her into her cot. It's really un-nerving.
I have no advise to offer. I just try not to fret about it.

Yep. My 6mo does it too. Its developmental. They will do it more and more, until rolling becomes easy and they move on to crawling. No stopping them now, we're in trouble...

Thank you so much...is reassuring to know not just my lo ... There really is no stopping them! He pootles around the living room on his belly, mainly shuffling backwards!

So does mine! Its comical watching them, til they get their legs stuck round a table leg and wail instead Grin.

Haha..with mine he either gets his legs stuck under the sofa or he finds the DVD player with his feet Grin

Funny little things! Mine does this in his cot too while he settles and is often to be seen in a really peculiar neck bent arms up wedged in a corner position while asleep, how can that be comfortable?

My ds does this too. He also does it when lying across my lap on his back, pushing and bouncing with his legs so he starts to dive off the other side backwards.
