Before you were conceived, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would give my life for you. This is the miracle of love.? ― Maureen Hawkins

"A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It know no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorse-lessly all that stands in its path."

The most beautiful necklace a mother can wear is not gold or gems, but her child's arms around her neck.

"A Mother's Treasure is Her Daughter." by Catherine Pulsifer

"A daughter is the greatest gift a woman can give herself" Catherine Atkinson

I love a good quote!

"A daughter is a day brightener and a heart warmer"

A daughter is a treasure....and a cause of sleeplessness

A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful moments of the present, and the hope and promise of the future.

One of my favourites isn't directed at a daughter but i love it we did our hand prints in paint with a poem that went something like this (can't remember it all sorry)
At times you get discouraged because we are so small and always leave our finger prints on furniture and walls but every day were growing we'll be grown up someday and all those tiny handprints will surely fade away. So here's a final hand print just so u can recall exactly how are fingers looked when we were very small

Ah, I thought when I saw the title that you meant quotes from a daughter. Grin I could come up with a few of those:

"I won't need you to be my mummy when I'm grown up because you'll be dead by then"

"How do you know? Did you read it in a book?"

And then one day, astonishingly: "You are the right mummy for me".

"Let her sleep. For when she wakes, she will move mountains"

No idea who said it... But nice for a nursery!

It was originally said about China, gintastic Grin (but I've used it as a caption on a photograph of DD before)

Dreams, that first one of yours has me in tears.

I have some on the wall downstairs - will go and look now.

gintastic · 27/07/2013 13:31

Tolliver, thanks for that! I did always wonder...

LifeIsSoDifferent · 27/07/2013 13:38

Dreams I love the second quote you gave

DreamsOfAShower · 27/07/2013 14:41

The first third were my favourites.
A couple of funnies heer:

By the time a women realize her mother was right, she has a daughter who thinks she's wrong.

I smile because you're my daughter , I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it.

DreamsOfAShower · 27/07/2013 14:41

Sorry: meant to say first AND third.

DreamsOfAShower · 27/07/2013 14:51

Mothers and daughters become the closest, when daughters become mothers.

No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you?re the only one who knows the sound of my heart from the inside.

A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be your best friend.

A daughter may outgrow your lap but she will never outgrow your heart.

Like Mother Like Daughter - the nicest compliment there is

Daughters are like flowers, they fill the world with beauty, and sometimes attract pests.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 28/07/2013 18:03

It's not daughter specific butone that I've always liked...

While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 28/07/2013 18:09

Daughters hold our hands for a little while, but hold our hearts forever
