Is it worth buying another car seat for my 8 year old daughter?

Hi, my daughter is very tall for her age at 4 foot 8. She weighs nearly 7 stone. She's got a Britax high backed booster at the moment, but the headrest has cracked, and can't be taped very well.
She has severe learning difficulties and poor co-ordination and muscle tone, so I really do want her to have side impact protection for as long as possible. Does it matter is she's way over the weight limit as long as she fits in comfortably? Surely it's going to be safer than just a booster?
What do you think?

Have you considered a specific car seat for children with special needs? There's quite a few here - don't know if any of them would fit your needs/budget?

I think you're right btw - if she has poor muscle tone then a proper harness and side impact protection is important even if she is tall/heavy.

Thank you. Smile I've had a look and they all go up to a max of 36kg's. I suppose that it would be more vital in a seat with a harness that you don't exceed the weight limit. She's probably be better off in another Britax.
