My 6 year old son is showing no interest in toys at all for about 6 months now. He draws and constantly writes fact books but is always after getting on iPad or phone if he can. I restrict this but wondered is that it for my 6 year old and playing with traditional toys?? What are other people's 6 year old s like? He was a bit of a Lego fiend but even that is on the wane now!

What's he like with other children?
Does he join in playing ?
Does he do any imaginative game playing? Role play?
Outdoor type of child? Would rather be up a tree than playing with plastic figures/cars or Lego?

Loves being up a tree and can do really effective role play etc but we can't be outside all the time (he would love that!). Was just wondering if it was an age thing or just him. Plays well with other children but def a push towards computers etc in the house now rather than toy play. Obviously can't force toys etc.... On to him but wanted to resist computer obsession for a good few years!!

My 6 yo DS is the same, it's all iPad or computers or bugs Hmm he is currently filling out a book on all the bugs he finds and the constantly asking questions on anything from why there is a government to what the sun does. It's bloody exhausting, how I wish he would just play with his darn Ben 20 toysWink,

jillycar · 21/07/2013 22:46

That's exactly what mine's like except swap bugs for football facts!
