I'm thinking short sleeve PJs and shorts, and a 0.5 tog sleeping bag?

I'd just put him in a nappy and the bag. It'll be baking when he goes to bed. You can always put a light blanket over him when you go to bed if it has cooled down.

rainbowfeet · 13/07/2013 17:59

Last few nights my 17 month old just been in his vest & a light blanket ( his comfort one) but he kicks that off. Before that when it wasn't quite so hot it was p.j's or sleep suit but no vest.

wibblyjelly · 13/07/2013 18:05

Sorry, should have said, he will have a fan on him as well Blush

No fan just a nappy and vest at most. Hens it's been really really hot in previously years iv put my ds down in just a nappy then light cover later in the night

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 13/07/2013 18:10

Our 8 mo has been in just a nappy and short sleeves vest all week. A 0.5 tog sleeping bag about midnight, or when he wakes.

Don't put a fan directly on him though. Just in the room will be fine. Open all the windows and doors to crate a vacuum effect. Open curtains and put a thin, damp sheet on the window . That will help to cool the room a little

Honkyponk · 13/07/2013 18:12

Just put my ten month old down in a short sleeve and short leg vest. Will probably drape a thin blanket over her before we go to bed. It's so sweaty her hair is stuck down already!

Guitargirl · 13/07/2013 18:15

Depends on how hot the room is but I would go with just a nappy, can always cover with light blanket later.

Wuxiapian · 13/07/2013 18:16

I'm leaving 5 month old DS in just a short sleeved/should legged sleep suit. No vest. No blanket or sheet.

wibblyjelly · 13/07/2013 18:18

Its so hard to know what to do with winter babies Grin . Will take on all your advice, thank you

do none of your babies wake up cold? I always find myself that if I go to bed with no duvet as it's hot then inevitable I wake at 3am, chilly and needing to snuggle under the covers! Worried now that DS is too hot at night as he wears more than that...I do have a gro thermometer tho and follow what grobag says to wear...hopefully he's fine!

FeegleFion · 13/07/2013 18:28

My house is always roasting and my bedroom like a sauna! DS 7 months has been naked, except a nappy, since the sun came to play.

I co-sleep so even hotter. I have a fan on a high shelf and both tiny windows open and he's been sleeping in just his nappy.

PotteringAlong · 13/07/2013 18:32

DS will be in just a nappy. I'll put a cellular blanket on him when I go to bed

SpicedGingerTea · 13/07/2013 18:35

Will put my 4mnth old DS in his cot in just his nappy and a short sleeved vest. It is 30 degrees upstairs and will probably be warmer by 8pm. Sad I put a muslin over him last night but he kept kicking it off!

valiumredhead · 13/07/2013 18:39

Nappy and vest and cover later with a cotton sheet.

just nappy unless you think temperature in room is going to drop below 20C highly unlikely I would have thought

whatsoever · 14/07/2013 15:13

My 9 month old has been in just a nappy & vest for weeks. On occasional less hot nights we've used his 1 tog sleeping bag or he's worn a sleepsuit as well but he's never woken up cold on the nappy and vest nights.

wibblyjelly · 14/07/2013 15:14

Ds slept all the way through in just his nappy and 0.5 sleeping bag, so thank you Grin

My 6mo is in a (cloth, usually) nappy, and maybe a thin t shirt or vest - or maybe nothing - and as he sleeps beside me, I generally wake if it is cool enough to want a blanket or a sheet over him, but our house is very very cool being on the ground floor of an old converted house. So even in high summer it's cold at night.

superbabysmummy · 14/07/2013 20:16

Sleeveless vest & nappy, it's 30 degrees in DD room at the moment & it's 8.15pm, at 2 this morning it was 28 degrees, so uncomfortable for them! Would have her vest off but she takes her nappy off so need it on ... We have a fan on too.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/07/2013 20:22

It was hot like this when our dd was the same age, he slept in a 0.5, nappy, vest and a fan. In fact a couple of night we dumped the sleeping bag too.

Badgerwife · 15/07/2013 09:44

My 3 week old was in her nappy only and I had a cellular blanket to hand if needed. We had a fan on in a corner of the room and she sleeps right next to me so I could check her. She was fine, and in fact still a bit hot the poor thing!

DD1 who's nearly 2 was in her nappy and tank top, fan on, no sleeping bag.

I figured if all I can cope with is my nursing bra and knickers, no way could they cope with much more on either.
