Is it normal for 2 year-olds to have a massive increase in appetite?

My DS seems to have doubled his food intake recently. He is still bfeeding, has cut down on that a little bit, and has stopped napping during the day. He is suddenly really hungry all the time. Today he has eaten:

Porridge
1.5 yoghurts
Bag of organix cheese puffs
2 bananas
2 small bread rolls, one with cream cheese, one with peanut butter
Some watermelon
Breadsticks and cream cheese
Pasta with chick peas, sweet corn and broccoli
Half a satsuma
Half a peach.

Is this a normal amount for a just turned 2 year-old?

Sound just like my dd2 who munches through a similar amount Grin

Same here. DD was somewhat of a fussy eater - not any more!! She eats more than me some times.

Sounds like my DS (2.9). This morning for breakfast he had:
1 wheetabix
1 bowl of cornflakes
1 bowl of cheerios
some of his dad's toast.

Yesterday he had 3 w'bix. I can't manage that much!

I do notice that, from time to time, his appetite increases massively for a few days... and then all of a sudden all his trousers are too short! So it's likely a growth spurt.

Good to hear he's normal! I think he might be due a growth spurt, he's certainly stocking up for it. Seeing how much beela' s DS eats for breakfast I think I might try giving him a bigger breakfast!
