Bedrooms: share or separate when they are toddlers?

I still have 18month old in a cosleeper in my room. I want to move her out soon but I don't know if we should try moving her into her sister's room (3.5 year old, not really a toddler) or would a separate room be better. The third room is currently used as an office so relocating everything would be a pain.

They nap in the same room at the moment and often wake each other up.

I'm also breastfeeding dd2 but hoping to wean her soon. But that's how I get them down for their nap successfully.

Am I mad for thinking they may be able to sleep in the same room?

I have a 5yo DD and a 2yo DS who share. They have done since they were 4yo and 16m. It can be hard to begin with whole they learn the 'rules' of sharing. If I ever needed both to nap at the same time (rare) I would put DD in my bed.

My 2.7 year old and 17 month old have been sharing for 4 months. There isn't the option of them having separate rooms, we have four DC and four bedrooms.
It took a couple of weeks for them to get used to each other but now they sleep well at night. They don't seem to notice if the other one wakes for whatever reason.
I don't put them down to nap together during the day though, I find they wake each other up too much.
For daytime naps either I put my 2yo in our bed or he goes in his bed and my 17mo goes in the pram.

4 yr old and 5 yr old share by choice. They love it - and room looks very cute at night (this should not be a deciding factor but hey...)

Our 3.7 and 9mo have been sharing for about 4mths. No other option unless baby was still in with us.

Still working on cracking the bedtime routine but usually I put the baby down while dc1 reads stories/playa ipad game in my bed, ideally with DH but sometimes alone. We then read together until the baby stops crying drops off and then she sneaks in quietly. This seems to help her get off to sleep more quickly too, she can't faded about or she wakes up the little one.

They rarely wake wake each other up. Dc1 in particular: once she's off she sleeps through the baby waking/wailing no problem!

You have the option to separate so do so. Easier for them to sleep and they'll almost certainly need/want their own rooms in a few years anyway so the room move would just be postponed.

I have 2 and 5 year olds sharing.

Sometimes they go off to their own beds all nicely and fall asleep fine.

Sometimes they wind each other up, 2 yo cries, 5 yo shouts at her to be quiet, general screaming ensues, I have to take 2 year old out until 5 year old drops off.

Sometimes they get up to mischief together and get out loads of toys when they should be going to sleep - i think they egg each other on a bit.

Sometimes I just hear them chatting away, which I think is lovely.

Often I find they have both fallen asleep together in the same bed.

They mostly love sharing, and I think it is nice for them to do so. Yes, some evenings they keep each other awake, but I think also they help each other settle other times.

I think I will give it a go with putting them in the room together at night. It sounds like it can work but may take a few weeks of perseverance.

I have 3 sharing, entirely through choice, as the youngest was upset when he was taken to another room, and the two older children also didn't like him going away. They love being in a room together, they all get bedtime stories together. It will vary with your children's temperament, but I guess you can just see how it goes.
