Is she hungry?

Hi.

I'm after some advice or just confirmation that this is normal ( or not ).

My dd1, 5 in November, says that she is hungry, on average every 5/10 mins throughout the day.

This morning for example, she ate, porridge, banana scotch pancake, bacon and eggs. And at 9:15am she is telling me she is hungry.

Is seems obsessed with food but will eat everything. She is not at all overweight, is just a normal sized child.

It's driving me insane. I can't keep up with the amount she is eating, and the winging and moaning for food is endless.

I think sometimes she is thirsty or bored or tired and we talk about weather she is feeling those things not actual hunger but 90% if the time she seems genuinely hungry.

It's been like this for a really long time, it's always been her number one winge but recently it's just constant.

Heeeeeeeeelp!

It is easy for a child to not know the difference between thirst and hunger. It sounds to me like you're feeding her enough throughout the day, and that she's more than likely thirsty.

DS1 sometimes comes away with 'I'm hungry' even though he's eaten loads. I ask him to drink some water and he feels better afterwards. Could you try this?

Adults also do this from time to time (I am guilty of it too!).
