Third child

Hi,

I wondered if I could ask for people's experiences/opinions on having a third child.

We currently have 2 DDs, DD1 is 3 and a half and DD2 is 2 and 2 months.

I'm currently waiting for my period to start, as am a little worried that we may have been a little careless at the worst (or best, depending on how you look at it) time of the month.

We have talked about a third child before but in a few years. We have a 2 bed room house, luckily with big double bedrooms, and DDs share, with bunk beds being bought later this year, we can't afford to move to a bigger house for about 5 years, realistically. I'm currently a SAHM.

As much as I want my period to start, I also wouldn't be too upset if I were pg.

Am I completely mad? Does anyone else have 3 children in a two bedroom house?

Thanks, SaintAva

I don't, but I know two families who do (well, one has a three bed and a lodger!).

It's fine. I've lived in a two bed with two - you have to be vigilent about the number of huge toys other people buy them, the amount of crap that builds up. Life will be a hell of a lot easier if you have a shed or a garage for overflow. But it's perfectly do-able. Bunk beds and one bed.

The issue really comes as they reach the end of primary school, when personal space becomes more of an issue, particularly if they are opposite sex.

Good luck with the result!

I do have 3, but not in a 2 bed house, having said that, DD2 (2.9) spends more nights in our bed than in her own Grin

Thank you for your replies! We would be looking to move in 5 years regardless of whether we have more children, and part of me thinks that if we have another baby now it'll mean the baby stage is completely over by the time we move, so moving with kids approximately 8, 7 and 4 rather than moving with an 8, 7 and a 1-2 year old instead.

I don't know, also feel like I'd be taking attention away from my two beautiful DDs, but then I already had all the guilt before when pg with DD2 and thinking about DD1 getting less attention

Decisions, decisions...

Trouble is Amanda we don't have a loft or garage, but although we only have a small garden we live 30 seconds walk from a huge outdoor sports centre and 15 minutes walk from a huge Common
