Won't the journey and nursery be enough excitement for such a little one?

Do I assume that the 1 year old is a younger sibling? Where is the nursery? 'Central London' is a big area. There's Coram Fields (south of Kings Cross) and the parks along the river (Embankment on north side, Jubilee gardens on the south). South bank has lots of entertainment which is fun to watch with little ones. Not sure if there's a 'beach' on the south bank this year but there usually is and various things going on at the South Bank Centre / Royal Festival Hall (on Fridays, free concerts at 1pm). Covent Garden always lots to watch. Princess Diana playground in Regents Park.

Loads of parks. Chasing pigeons in Trafalgar Square. London Zoo. Bus ride. Anything really, 1year olds are quite easy to please aren't they? Smile

Mine just liked the underground. If I could've just gone round and round the circle line I could've got some serious reading done Grin

There are normally great fountains to run across in Somerset house, but take change of clothes.

Coram fields is great because not only does it have a padlibf pool for hot days, it has colonnades for rainy days.

If it is tipping down, top of a double Decker bus bring the bus driver, or science museum it natural history museum..
