When does your one year old have milk

When do you give your 1 year old milk? My DS has approx 100-150ml in his cereal then around 200ml before bed. He has had a stomach bug recently and has been sipping on milk instead of eating. Today he is more back to normal but instead of giving him milk after his bath I gave him some to sip on before and he seemed to like that. How do you do it?

Go with whatever feels right for your child, as long as he's getting milk regularly, which he is, that's fine. I give dd (16 months milk to drink in the morning when she wakes up at 6:00 then give her milk with cereal at about 8:00. If she wakes up later then I just give her milk to drink with her breakfast. Sometimes she drinks all of this, sometimes not. Then I give her a bedtime bottle before I read her a story and put her to bed. She used to have an afternoon bottle as a snack but we dropped that when she wasn't really drinking it. You just have to see when your ds prefers to drink it - they're all different. If he's been poorly milk is probably quite comforting for him so just take his lead on when he wants it. You can always give him a yoghurt or something if you're concerned about his dairy intake.
