How do you stop baby's feet getting caught in sleeping bag?

It's very hot here at the moment, I've got her in a vest and a thin sleeping bag, but when she has bare feet she somehow kicks so that he gradually walks up the inside of the sleeping bag and ends up all bunched up. Socks won't stay on, it's too hot for them, and also I don't want to restrict her circulation at night. Nobody seems to have mentioned this problem so what am I doing wrong? She's 5 months if it makes a difference. Thank you!

I'm assuming this wakes him up? Or could be coincidence. Why not try without a sleep bag?

ellesabe · 02/07/2013 20:40

Does it matter if the sleeping bag is bunched up? I feel like I'm missing something...

She's walking up the inside of it so her knees end up by her chest and then she can't move them. I think it's a bit cold for none at all plus were in a strange place and I think it would make you feel insecure to have nothing covering you? Tried blankets she kicks them off.

Have you tried a baby grow and no sleeping bag?

My DD HATED sleeping bags with a total passion. We managed without them

Sleepsuit with feet but no vest and a thin 1.0 tog bag?

If it's really hot I'd agree on just a sleepsuit.

CreatureRetorts · 03/07/2013 12:39

But she might not be bothered? You won't know until you try without.

ipswichwitch · 03/07/2013 12:52

Try her without. DS (20mo) hasn't had one since may and no covers either. He moves a lot during sleep and gets too hot and bothered, and he's perfectly happy with just his pjs on. I wouldn't like sleeping without some sort of cover (even a sheet) but each to their own.

We're just using a long sleeve sleepsuits at the moment - no blanket or sleeping bag.

Jojomamanbebe sell sleeping bags with legs. I had the same problem with my DS and as soon as I moved him to the sleeping bags with legs, he started to sleep better. He was getting twisted up in the normal sleeping bags!

Is trhr sleeping bag too small, try next size up?

SpooMoo · 06/07/2013 08:23

I think it sounds like the sleeping bag is too small. Have you looked at the 6+ month size and checked if she meets the weight? We moved our (over average sized!) baby into the 6-18mo bag at 5mo and her movement isn't restricted now.
