Aldi nappies?

I have been recommended to use Aldi's own brand nappies for my first baby due in 4 months. I know price isn't everything but I'm unsure. Has anybody used these before and have any advise?

I mostly use cloth (whoch has saved me a fortune) but use Aldi when on holiday. They are sbsolutely fine, no leaks etc.

Yonididnaedaethat · 01/07/2013 16:19

I usually buy Aldi nappies as its within walking distance to my home, they are just as good as other brands.

BeCool · 01/07/2013 16:20

they are are good as any nappies. I've used own brand and Lidl nappies for both DC and had no problems at all with them.

The Lidl ones are now UNDER £5 a pack - brilliant!

I've used Aldi nappies since DD was newborn, they're great and HALF the price of other nappies - even supermarket own branded ones.

goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 01/07/2013 16:25

Aldi nappies are brilliant. Cheap and no leaks. Also recommend their cotton wool pads for bottom cleaning if you choose not to use wipes.

laura20 · 01/07/2013 16:25

Thanks, I've bought a few packs of newborn but getting advice to buy the next size up as they grow so fast.

They're great. Most expensive isn't the best. I found that the crystals in pampers, like in the slim sanitary towels, really stink when wet & irritated my baby's skin. She only got nappy rash when I got a load of pampers on offer.

BeCool · 01/07/2013 17:06

Grand I just brought a large packet of size 5's from Sainsburys (own brand) for £5.97. From memory the Aldi ones are about £5.20, Lidl are now about £4.90

NumTumDeDum · 01/07/2013 17:58

Another vote for Aldi nappies, they're great. I also rate their bebevita babyfood and juice. Much better than heinz. Not so keen on their wipes though, bit on the dry side.

kefybaby · 01/07/2013 18:03

I really like them too. I have been using them for DD1 (now 3 and only using them in the night) and DD2 (4 months old). Whenever I have used any other nappies I have found them to be less absorbent.

stargirl1701 · 01/07/2013 20:08

They are excellent.

Yama · 01/07/2013 20:11

We used them too. Dc2 is now in their pull ups.

I would also recommend their wipes - they don't have the caustic ingredients of some of the big brands and therefore nappy rash is less likely.

GrandPoohBah · 01/07/2013 20:29

Oh, I stand corrected. Aldi 4s are definitely under a fiver for maybe 44?

ShaggingZumbaStylee · 01/07/2013 20:29

good but pampers at night

laura20 · 02/07/2013 11:56

So do they seem to leak at night?

OP posts:
goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 02/07/2013 14:09

They never leaked at night for us.

kefybaby · 02/07/2013 14:45

A friend of mine forgot to change her DD's aldi nappy in the morning before sending her to nursery. When she picked DD up in the afternoon DD still had the same nappy on (yes, nursery staff had not changed her all day Shock - but this is another issue/ thread!) and the nappy was still going strong.

DrSeuss · 02/07/2013 14:51

We mostly use cloth but find Lidl ones good.

BeCool · 02/07/2013 15:03

kefy I once sent DD off with CM without a nappy on at all. Shock
I just completely forgot to put one on her and dressed her without one - she was about 18m.

MrsBucketxx · 02/07/2013 15:08

I use aldi for both of mine with no issue at all. why pay a fortune for nappies.

they dont leak at night either.

kefybaby · 02/07/2013 19:14

BeCool, on several occasions (!) DH has put DD1 to bed without putting a nappy on then. You can imagine the rest...!

FeegleFion · 02/07/2013 19:14

Aldi's nappies and wipes are excellent! Grin

snala · 06/07/2013 08:06

Another vote for aldi nappies.Grin

Dylan123 · 06/07/2013 16:42

Vote from me too. I must confess I was a total pampers snob until a friend gave me a coupe to try and they are amazing. I have a very big boy of just turned 9 months and wears 4+ and has done since 5 months..These have never leaked..fit well around his thighs and don't smell like pampers. Bargain price too ESP in the baby event where I think I bought boxes of 100 for £7.49 or something ridiculous like that.
These are by far the nappies for me and I tell everyone about them.x

Littlemissexpecting · 16/07/2013 09:23

My ds is 4 weeks old and I must be the minority as I prefer pampers. Found them softer.
