Sleep/naps

DS is just over 6m

He was sleeping and napping really well. He now wakes again in the night, usually just once but that's fine - brilliant compared to some babies.

Anyway, he has generally been brilliant at napping. I have never got into a set routine as he wakes at different times in the mornings so gets tires at different times for naps.

He gets very whiny when tired and nothing pleases him so I have always took him up to his cot, closed the curtains, popped his white noise on and he has pretty much gone off to sleep immediately.

Up until this last week or so. He is fighting every nap and screaming when I put him down then when I do get him to nap it's not long enough for him and he wakes up still tired.
He's a generally whiny baby anyway so when he's tired this just escalates and nothing is any fun.

He won't sleep in the pram. Will tolerate it for a short time but then just screams and squirms to get out.
He will sometimes, only sometimes, fall asleep in the car but again it's hit and miss as to whether he screams or gives in. This has been the same since day one.

If I manage to fight him to sleep on me, then try to put him down he wakes immediately and if I leave him asleep on me he only has 20mins and again is still tired.

I'm not doing anything differently, that I know of and bedtime routine is set in stone.

Think I've put the while picture down but feel free to ask questions.

Any advice?

It could simply be a developmental leap that is affecting things, have a look here.

Try googling askdrsears refuses nap too Smile
