Please help... 10 month old Coughing in sleep!

Hi Guys

I'm after some urgent help! My ds has had a cold since cutting his first tooth. He is totally smothered and continually coughing in his sleep to the point of making himself sick. Been to the docs and they say its not an infection so there's nothing they can give him :-(

We are currently doing the following:

Vick on feet
Calpol
Vaporiser
Steam in bathroom

Nothing seems to be helping!

Anybody got any other tips/ advice?

My DD seems to be susceptible to coughs. It is very worrying and often means I dont sleep, even if she does!

I do what you have done as well as Raise the cot, couple of books under legs. I also recommend a nasal spray or drops.

Is he just coughing at night? Is there any family history of asthma? This was how it first showed up in my son at 14 months but he wasn't snotty or coughing in the day.

Similar with our DD and we had to take her off dairy which was causing nasal drip at back of throat and making her cough when lying down. She is now 3 and not completely off dairy but when she has it she gets the cough back. Just a possibility.
