Rockin green detergent

Does anyone know where I can buy it? And is it worth the ridiculous high price, particularly the funk rock. I've got bamboozles that I have stripped/tried to strip several times, but they still smell especially when used at night.
If not any suggestions for alternatives, I'm currently using a liquid non bio, but thinking I might change if I need to/it's worth it to stop them smelling.
Baby no 2 due shortly and I really want to use them again but smell does put me off.
Thanks

Have you tried leaving out on the line for a week?

stargirl1701 · 19/06/2013 21:33

No matter the weather. Day and night.

Yep I have tried that left them out through an entire week of rain, they are better, but I can still smell them, so I think as soon as I use them again they will really pong.

Hmmm. Could you wangle a trial sample by writing to them?

Tots Bots do a "Magic Potion" nappy wash, which is pricey, but affordable for one bag. Or Febreeze? Sunshine works v well.

Are you using too much detergent? That's often the cause of pee smells as soon as they get wet? Do you do a final rinse after washing? You shouldn't be able to smell the detergent at all when they come out of the machine - I've changed to using an ecoegg for the last few months and have had great results - you can add the odd bit of detergent if you want to occasionally and I've found even the night nappies don't hum as much! I found that non bio especially liquids, didnt clean my nappies well enough so tgey always had a smell.

I use a combo of tea tree oil, bold 2 in 1 and a rinse wash rinse and so far no nasty smells.

I wasn't enamoured with TB potion or rocking green tbh.

Just a word of warning re changing to a biological detergent, I've read a lot of people changing to this as there's evidence that it's been shown to be no more likely to cause reactions than non bio - but I've also read that it's not good for bamboo - I'm not sure of the reason, I think it's detrimental to the fibres long term, I know the nappy lady doesn't recommend biological detergent for bamboo nappies... Just something to be aware of if you're planning to make a change to your washing regime. Smile
