When did you move your LO to a cot bed?

We are moving house on Friday and I am considering moving my little boy (2 at end of July) to a cot bed when we get into the new house. he is a relatively good sleeper....altough an early riser.....and has his moments like most!!??
I am getting conflicting advice from mum friends of mine and wondered if anyone could give me any advice? I'm not sure and my dh is thoroughly unconvinced?
TIA for your responses.

We moved our DS from a cot to a full size single bed at 2.5. He has slept much better ever since (now 2.8).

If you are thinking cot bed you could always put the sides back on if it's all going a bit wrong?

We did it when he started climbing out if his cot. He was 18 months.
If he's not yet climbing out of his cot, I'd be inclined to leave him in his cot until he's got used to his new surroundings as they'll already be a lot of change for him.

HI

We put DS1 in a cot to prepare him for our hol as there was only a bed available to him there. We have had no problems, he treats it the same as his cot, only he likes to get in himself. He was about 23 months.
