Maxi cosi easybase 2 help needed

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I wasn't sure where to put it.

I've bought the maxi cosi easybase 2 as I don't have isofix points in my car.

I tried fitting it tonight and I'm worried that its broken. That or I'm being really thick. The blue clip just doesn't seem to have anything to click into. It just flaps up and down and I can't figure out whether I have a faulty one or if I'm missing a vital step.

Is there anyone who has this base who can tell me what the blue clip is supposed to clip onto?

It clips down and it stays down, definitely doesn't flap about. It doesn't clip into anything in particular mine stays down with a spring at the hinge. It's very solid.

Once the seatbelt is through and you have pulled the blue clip down over it, it shouldnt move anywhere.

Thanks! I had the seatbelt in the wrong place- I hadn't tucked it under both parts of the blue clips.

I haven't got a car yet but want to check that my easybase isn't broken….

When not in the car, does the blue clip flap around a bit? Does it need a seatbelt to make it hold fast?

Or is mine broken?
