4 yr old boy present ideas

Ds2 is coming up to 4 & we're totally stumped for present ideas. He's got an older brother so we've already got the obvious big stuff (train set, cars, scooter, bike) & the only thing he's asked for is a dressing up outfit. We've got a big family & they're all pestering for ideas - any suggestions?

Have you got playmobil stuff? outdoor toys for summertime? dressing up stuff always good - my DCs don't have a lot and my heart sinks when they get a party invite with the dreaded "Fancy dress" on it! also, things like a doctor's kit, fireman's kit etc? Little CD player for his bedroom with audio books? (mine had these for Christmas off my mum and love listening to thomas audio, peter rabbit, three little pigs bbc audio adaptions...)

Lego City! Can't recommend it enough. My 4.5yo ds1 is full of energy and loves charging about playing football and anything energetic, yet he will happily sit for a good while with his dad and build lego. We have the lego fire engine, which is brilliant for playing with as well as building, some police stuff and a box of general bricks that we can invent things with. It is so much more imaginative than lego used to be, and my ds1 got into it a few months ago so 4 seems like a good age.

I was going to recommend Lego city too. My 4.5 yr old DS LOVES it.
Also what about a box of very easy reading books to read together? He may not quite be ready yet but when he is he'll love them. Fancy dress bits like pirate, cowboy, vampire cape etc that can be mixed and matched to make more outfits.
Another favourite toy of my DS is a toy bow and arrows.

Also, how old is older brother? Do you have a games console? We have some lovely childrens kinect games that DS loves.

It's Pirates, Lego & Dinosaurs in this house as well as Tennis currently (in prep for Wimbledon!), football & rugby for my 4 year old! Grin

Best successes from DS1's party a few weeks ago:
Tesco brand hot wheels track
octonaugh gaint cards and memory - tho there seem to be many versions of this (looks at the pile, Thomas, Mike the knight, Cars in the wardrobe)
Create your own Thomas story
His own watch
And, at his own request, an alarm clock!

Recent DVDs?
If Brio, you can get extras for the train set.
Something for the garden?

Thanks very much brilliant ideas Grin Went shopping today (ok so amazon'd most of it Wink) & got him a Spider-Man dressing up outfit, mike the knight figure set, bat & ball for the garden & a couple of new hot wheels cars.
