3yo ignoring her friends

DD is nearly 3. Today she didn't have a nap (this probably explains it all!) and we went swimming in the afternoon (organised class, been going for most of her life).
Her little friend, same age, came over to say hi. She turned away and wouldn't say anything Sad

Only 3 weeks ago we'd been at their holiday house abroad, playing in the pool together Confused

I had a talk with her after the class, saying how it's not nice to ignore our friends, and they won't want to be friends with her if she doesn't be friendly towards them. Is this normal tired toddler behaviour? I feel a bit Blush when she's like this but of course I can't force her to do anything.

She s 3years old- virtually a baby! They often play together but completely separately. It takes time to learn the social niceties.

She is quite shy around people anyway, unless she knows them well. However, she has recently started going to a childminder who she really likes, and has no problem saying 'morning!' to her in a sing-song voice Grin

I'll put it down to 3yo fickleness Confused
