we live in the sticks and my son wants to insure his car whilst he is home for the long and shorter holidays but wont use it during term time. I can't seem to find a good way of doing this apart from taking out insurance and then cancelling the policy 4 months (or three weeks!)later. Anybody else in this situation?

If memory serves, my parents spoke to an independent broker about my summer insurance - it may pay you to do that.

thanks. I'll do that.

Ring/email your insurer. I've insured my car for my sister for a week when she was 19 and didn't qualify for third party on other cars. I can't see it's a new problem.
