My ds is just 4 weeks now and during the day he feeds really well and sleeps well too as long as he's held by someone

Im not too worried as he has a lot of wee/poo nappies and has gained weight too.

But at Night time he has a long feed, he's feeding from 9-10 -30 and then I put him down and he wakes up at round 11-30-12 and has a tiny feed just a couple of minutes then falls asleep again. Then wake up again after an hour or 2 so all night till we wake up in the morning but each time he wakes up he just feeds very little.

Is it normal for a baby to feed only very little at night?

Yes this is all very normal. Bfing is more about just food, he probably needs the comfort of you too.

Have you read Bfing your newborn: what to expect in the early weeks?

As for not settling without being held, have you tried putting one of Dhs worn tshirts in his Moses basket? Yours will smell of BM and might not make him settle so well. Have you tried swaddling and white noise too? Some people find that if they wait 20 mins after feeding, so that Lo is in a deep sleep, then put them in the Moses basket, it can work.

Have you tried putting Lo in bed with you too and feeding lying down?
