DD (3) feels like she needs a wee but can't go- UTI?

My DD, age 3, seems to have been needing the loo more often recently and lately on a few occasions says she needs a wee and then gets herself upset when it "won't come". Should I take her to the doctor? Could it be a urinary infection? I hate seeing her upset like this, she has been nearly potty trained for a year now and has never struggled like this! :(
P.S: If I do need to take her to the doctor do I take a wee sample with us?

Sounds very much like cystitis where you feel this constant urge to wee but nothing there. Can be very upsetting especially for a little one.
Try lots and lots of cranberry juice and also found that if you place her in the bath and then direct the shower at her vagina it soothes the feeling ( think it sort of flushes it out).
I would take her to docs and take a urine sample too.
Hope that helps.

Yes sounds like one. Get her to the doc as can get worse.
